Pocket pro timer ii cei0016/2/2023 ![]() Beyond that, I’ll occasionally revisit the times I saw originally, as I get more comfortable shooting these, just to see if my times drops additionally or stay where they are. That said, As I mentioned initially, I DID do some shooting with a shot timer, and DID see a drop in times for me. For that focus, I have little need for spending a bunch of time & money on scientific evaluations of my skill level, or the efficacy of a new product, be it a pistol or a set of sights, beyond a “seat of the pants” subjective evaluation. Although we have a variety of competitions and leagues for handguns, they’re neither easy to participate in because of changes in our laws, or they aren’t conducive to an old, retired guy with a bum leg being active in them, so my handgun shooting is strictly for fun, and done indoors. While many years ago when ours was a kinder, gentler, less regulated world and Canadians could shoot competitively with our American friends, I did so. While I also endorse objective, data based conclusions, in this circumstance for me that is 100% mute I’m in ncealed or open carry is simply impossible to do legally it’s prohibited under our laws. I have said better groupings or faster times were achieved by me because of these sights. I’ve been more impressed than I expected to be.I said that to. I don’t disagree my experiences thus far are subjective I believe I said that actually. but to help ensure that, if the circumstances arise, I'm faster and more accurate than the bad guy. or to become a Grand Master class shooter. Just to be clear, I don't focus on speed and accuracy to win competitions. and to know how good 'good' is requires objective testing. ![]() Regardless of what I 'think', if a change to my shooting technique or hardware improves my drill scores, it's good. a Grand Master would easily score 12 or higher). ![]() that is, (4 hits x 5 points + 4 hits x 3 points) / 5 seconds = 6.4 (which is 'average'. To not bore you with details, let me just say that my average best scores at 10 feet are about 6.4. To minimize 'bad data', I throw out the high and low scores and average the remaining 10. The score for each string is the total points for 8 shots divided by the string time in seconds. I then score the target, tape the holes, and repeat the drill for a total of 12 strings. If you’re more open to a new approach, I think you might like them.I am liking them more than I expected toįrom 'Compressed Ready', at the timer beep, I engage each blue square on the target with two rounds, for a total of eight rounds. If you’re “change adverse”, you’ll probably spend all day finding things about them NOT to like. Time will tell the tale more accurately, but so far with just shy of 1000 rounds on them, I’m adjusting to the completely different appearance quite well, and they’re fast.every bit as much as a notch & blade & it “feels” to me, they’re faster. The speed version seems to my uncalibrated and untimed eye to be a good bit quicker getting a solid sight picture. ![]() There is a bit of a learning curve, for sure, but it’s neither long or onerous. We’ve all spent our lives seeking a sight picture with your POA obscured to some degree by your front sight Now, you’re looking for the opposite.a completely unobscured POA. I’m finding they are very quick to get a sight picture, once you get the right mindset going. If you CAN’T see a portion of your POA, you aren’t properly lined up. I find that both front and rear sights are (or appear to be) “in focus” at the same time, and being able to see the entire POA instead of one that’s partially obstructed negates any concern about being “off” in elevation if you can SEE your POA between the three Points, your elevation is correct, period. It takes a little time.I’m talking 2 or 3 mags, not weeks.to adjust to the different view. It works really well for one handed racking hook it on your belt, edge of a door, etc. Reversing the rear sight from the photo shown is in fact the correct orientation the perpendicular face should be forward, not to the rear. I wanted to interject again and add a bit more insight to some of the questions.
